❶ Is everything falling apart?
Would you agree that over the past 10 or 15 years, things just seem...harder? Stuff is pricier, jobs more insecure, housing harder to come by, and politics more in turmoil. The author of this article places social media at the core of these issues; the like button, specifically. Although this is centred around the U.S., the central message I think applies to us all.
❷ Africa – Google and Meta's internet target
The two companies are battling to dominate the rich and – for a lot of the continent – untouched internet ground. They have been building underwater cables for years now, and we're close to a domination of an entire continent's technology by...American tech companies. What could possible go wrong?
❸ When is a ball not a ball?
I'm playing a bit of a gamble with this article, as it's a science one rather than design or tech, but I think you'll like it. It's a discussion about "the singularity", in an attempt to define what it is against the context of science, mathematics, physics, and nature. Interested?

Pasta: A global staple
Another left field choice here, but I really enjoyed listening to it. Is pasta a noodle? Who invented pasta? Is dried pasta...real pasta? Questions I know you've asked yourself before, and this podcast is a quick and light look at the thing, its origins, and why we all love it.
